CUSTOMER STATED : Have 2 tankless water heaters throwing code 11 TECHNICIAN NOTES : Out today to address concerns regarding 2 Rinnai tankless water heaters that were installed within a few weeks ago by a different contractor. Tankless heaters located in closet are vented out in 2 inch pvc but merge into a concentric pipe before lines go out of the building through the roof. Both units are also missing 2 inch pvc for the air intake that needs to be piped out of the building per Rinnai technical help. Units share a 3/4 gas main that tee off with isolation valves for each. Rinnai technical support believes both units are showing code 11 due to lack of air / combustion flow and possibly lack of gas supply. Support recommended rectifying the venting for both united and to perform a gas test to ensure tankless’s are getting the required gas supply. RESOLUTION : Performed a diagnostic of tankless water heaters. Need to build estimates to modify venting for units and to perform a gas

Out today 7/25/24 Trevor J. Annual Water Heater Flush. Out today to perform HCC annual water heater flush. 40 gallon natural gas water heater in the garage is 9 years old. Unit is too old to perform a flush without potential issues arising. Customer chose to not flush water heater. Assisted customer in lighting the pilot on this heater. Explained to customer he needs to start prepping for water heater replacement. It is likely the pilot will go out again and I do not recommend spending money on this older unit. Customer States: Disposal is not working properly. Technician Notes: Disposal in the kitchen is not turning on. Determined this is an electrical issue. Pulled power supply out the bottom of the unit and tested. Power to switch, but no power to the disposal. Unit is only 4 years old. Resolution: Customer needs an electrician to repair switch. Spoke to customer onsite about water heater replacement. Unit is 21 years old. She may be interested in replacing in the near future. Job Notes: Safety inspection complete. Job Status: Complete. Customer stated: they wanted their annual plumbing inspection. Tech notes: called out today to perform an annual plumbing inspection. While on site I started in the garage with the water heater and worked my way around the home from fixture to fixture. I found the main level hallway tub drain is extremely slow draining and the toilet on the second level bathroom has a flapper that’s been molded to the flush valve and is putting a lot of tension on the handle when attempting to flush. Resolution: I recommend replacing the 16 year old water heater in the garage along with replacing the flapper in the upstairs toilet. Also the tub drain needs cleared. Job status complete.
