Although the United States has some of the safest water in the world, the chemicals used to keep our water supply safe and bacteria-free can have a negative effect on our long-term health and wellness. Water filtration and water softening systems can remove dangerous chemicals making your home’s water supply healthy.
President’s Cancer Panel endorses Home Water Filtering Devices
In its official 2008-2009 annual report, the President’s Cancer Panel recommends that people use home water-filtering devices to decrease exposure to cancer-causing agents.
The Panel’s 2008–2009 Report* is entitled “Reducing Environmental Cancer Risks: What We Can Do Now.” In it, the panel states, “Individuals and families have many opportunities to reduce or eliminate chemical exposures. For example, filtering home tap water or well water can decrease exposure to numerous known or suspected carcinogens or endocrine-disrupting chemicals.”
“This reaffirms what independent testing shows,” said Peter J. Censky, executive director of the Water Quality Association. “Home water treatment is a proven final barrier against many harmful chemicals.”
