Contractor States: Needing an estimate to move a gas line that is blocking the way of a support beam being installed in place of a load bearing wall. Technician Notes: The 1/2” black iron gas line the contractor is referring to current serves the stove on the main level. This drop down from the attic, through a 2nd story wall, into the main level ceiling, over roughly 12ft and down the wall the stove will rest against. Will have to cap off existing line in the attic. CM 04/23/2024 Customer stated: they had a leak in the garage ceiling. Tech notes: called out today to look at a leak in the garage ceiling. While on site I found that there was a half inch copper line in the garage ceiling that had ruptured due to freezing water. Resolution: I cut out the section of half inch copper that was ruptured and replaced it with pex. While on site I started in the garage with the and checked over the water heater to find the thermal expansion tank has failed due to age. 5e thermal expansion tank is supposed to be full of compressed air instead is full of water. Resolution: checked through the whole home and found everything functioning properly as should with no leaks or drips the only issue found was with the thermal expansion tank. While on site I found the water heater on a platform in the garage outside of manufacturers warranty. I performed a brief water heater inspection to find the thermal expansion tank is full of water instead of compressed air. CUSTOMER STATED : There is a leak in the garage wall. TECHNICIAN NOTES : Out to the residence today for the concern of a leak in the garage wall. After investigating, we found the leak is caused by a pin hole in the CPVC 1/2 piping that is going through a wood stud. Water pressure in home is good, testing at 70 PSI. RESOLUTION : Replaced approximately 10 ft of 1/2 inch CPVC piping with 1/2 pex piping. After making repairs, 1/2 inch hose bib line has been pressurized and tested for proper functions. There are no further concerns at this point in time. Clean out located in driveway. CUSTOMER STATED: They were unable to get the water to divert from the tub spout to the shower. They also had a leak coming from the tub in the upstairs bathroom. TECHNICIAN NOTES: Upon inspection I found that the tub spout was located in the upstairs hallway guest bathroom of home, and the diverter was no longer functioning properly. The h/o also stated that there was water damage showing up whenever the bath tub was used. I let h/o know we would need to change out the tub spout, and start with replacing the overflow gasket to fix todays issues. I presented options to have the gasket changes through service, and the h/o elected to move forward with repairs through service. RESOLUTION/RECOMMENDATIONS: I was able to successfully replace the existing tub spout with new spout, and replace the overflow gasket with no issues. After replacing the gasket there was still water leaking from the overflow assembly, and I made the h/o aware we would need to replace the whole assembly to
