Tech Notes: Upon inspection I found that the old shower head had some corrosion around the threading, and this was the reason the h/o was having difficulty getting it off. I presented options to have the shower head removed along with installing the brand new customer supplied shower head, but the h/o only wanted me to remove the existing shower head for todays visit. CUSTOMER STATED: They had a leak coming from the water heater. TECHNICIAN NOTES: Upon inspection I found that this is a Rheem 50 gallon natural gas water located in the garage of the home, and is 21 years of age which is well outside of manufacture warranty. I found that the thermal expansion tank has been removed prior to my arrival, and that this unit is leaking internally. I made the h/o aware this unit is out of code, and that there are no repairs I can make for this unit it can only be replaced. While on site the h/o stated he would like to have the other two water heaters looked at. I found that there are to 40 gallon natural gas tanks located in the basement of home, and are each six years of age. I found that both tanks are out of code, and the thermal expansion tank is also the wrong size for a two tank system.
